Stepper Motor Series

Q: After the step motor has been running for a while, its temperature will become extremely high, but still within the range that the hand can touch, is this normal?
A: Don't worry! When the step motor is running, The temperature equal to or below 90℃ is normal!
If needing to determine whether it is an abnormal temperature rise, first confirm the following two conditions of use:
1. Whether it has been used in a continuous operation of the occasion.
2. Whether the mechanism action frequency cycle is too high.
After you've eliminated the above unhealthy usage, try the following test again:
Under the premise of enough retentivity, at first, switch the appropriated switch to the ACD side and reduce the STOP current at the same time (turn the STOP knob scale value counterclockwise). In this way, it can also effectively solve the temperature rise problem!
Q: Does the step motor have a position feedback function?
A: Because the step motor is an open circuit, it won’t feedback to the location reached. But we can equip ENCODER at the rear end of the step motor to feedback the position signals or you can use COUNTER to calculate the TIMMING output of the driver.
Q: Can a 6-wire unipolar motor be paired with a bipolar driver?
A: Yes, the bipolar driver has contact A./A.B./B. But if needing to connect the 6-wire motor, then the COM line of AB phase does not need to be connected but only needs to have proper insulation.
However, if the 4-wire bipolar motor is going to be paired with the unipolar driver, there will be a problem that they cannot match, because the unipolar driver will have 5 contacts A./A.B./B.COM, the bipolar motor has only 4 lines without COM so it cannot be used.
Q: When the step motor is powered up to send pulse waves, will vibration occur at low speed?
A: Step motor 400pps below belongs to the low-speed resonance field so there will be obvious vibration conditions (normal phenomenon). Please avoid the low-speed resonance field and raise the speed in use. If you cannot change the speed, you can use micro-step driver to fine-tune the resolution, which can also lower low-speed vibration.
Q: What is the difference between a monopulse and a dipulse input?
A: The dipulse (2P) input will input the positive turn (CW) pulse signal at the driver CW pin and the driver CCW pin will input reversal (CCW) pulse signal.
The monopulse (1P) input will input PLUSE pulse wave signal into one of the pins of the driver pulse input, and the other pin is as switch of direction of operation (CW/CCW).
